I always remove the laces first. And buff the shoes after the neutral cream before a wax polish is used and then buff again.
How to remove the wrap from the upper? Just curious?

My only comment against this is: 1) applying the hard wax polish to the flexible parts of the shoe can result in the polish leaving a cracked finish which doesnt look good. I use cream all over, but only apply wax polish to the hard areas of the shoe (toecap and heel). 2) nourishing the soles is a terrible idea (no idea why anyone thought it would be a good plan), as what you end up doing is softening the leather on the sole, meaning it wears faster when you walk. Leave the soles well alone and they'll last longer.
generally nothing is better on the sole. Leave the sole alone, it doesn't need treated.
if your soles get dry they will also wear out faster. Keeping the leather hydrated and from drying out actually protects the leather from wearing out as quick
